Sean Garvey, Certified Master Inspector and CEO of Dwell Inspect Arizona
Born in Phoenix, Arizona where he spent years working under the sun learning the tools of entrepreneurship from his family business. He studied everything he could get his hands on, including construction, and ultimately he obtained his degree in Marketing from Arizona State University. In 2005, he moved to Honolulu where his attention turned to service-based businesses. Excelling as a people person, Sean grew as a notable service professional, and with over 15 years of sales and service experience he became a business consultant focusing on the intricacies of excellent service, project management, and marketing.
As suggested by one of his entrepreneurial mentors, he began his Home Inspector apprenticeship in Arizona, in 2013 and additionally studied and completed his certifications with the American Home Inspectors Training Institute (AHIT) and interNACHI.org. Following the apprenticeship, he founded Diamond Head Home Inspections in Honolulu, Hawaii. After significant success, Sean decided to expand to additional markets. In 2016, by co-founding Dwell Inspect Georgia and in 2017, by founding Dwell Inspect Arizona. Sean continues to serve as a consultant for both Diamond Head Home Inspections and Dwell Inspect Georgia while he manages the daily operations at Dwell Inspect Arizona.
As an avid CrossFit athlete, triathlete, surfer, student, and educator, Sean knows that preparation and attention to detail are the difference between success and failure.
Megan Garvey, Co-owner of Dwell Inspect Arizona, Director of Marketing and Public Relations
With more than fifteen years of experience in the luxury retail and real estate industries (where Megan built her business pedigree with a strong emphasis on culture and people) and after starting a family and moving to Arizona, Megan made the decision to join her husband, Sean, in launching Dwell Inspect Arizona.
Most recently, Megan was a valued member of a top-producing real estate team, Evans & Associates (formerly with Century 21 All Islands Fine Homes & Estates), based in Honolulu, Hawaii. Prior to getting her real estate license, Megan was the Senior Retail Marketing Manager for DFS, a division of Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton (LVMH), where she managed all Hawaii division marketing collateral (both internal and external) to reinforce the brand message of DFS and specifically the T Galleria stores.
Previously, Megan represented Nordstrom in various roles as the Nordstrom Rack Corporate Public Relations and Social Media Manager, responsible for managing all business, fashion and store opening PR needs for Nordstrom Rack nationwide and leading the brand’s social content and digital PR strategy; as the Nordstrom Rack Corporate Marketing Planner, instrumental in redeveloping the new store opening event plan for increased growth by identifying efficiencies of scale and better utilizing local event teams (with both positions based in Seattle, WA); and as the Hawaii Event Marketing & Public Relations Manager, responsible for events, promotions and public relations for Nordstrom throughout Hawaii.
Prior to joining Nordstrom, Megan acquired valuable marketing experience with the following outstanding organizations; as Regional Marketing Manager for Hawaiian Hotels & Resorts, Hawaii District Marketing Manager for Borders Group Inc., Marketing Manager for Bishop Museum, Regional Marketing Assistant for General Growth Properties, Inc., and Marketing Assistant for Pacific Design Center.
Originally from Mississippi, Megan received an MBA in Corporate Communications at Hawaii Pacific University and is a Magna Cum Laude graduate of Mississippi State University where she received a BBA in Marketing. While at MSU, Megan was the president of the Kappa Alpha chapter of her sorority, Phi Mu, was voted Senior Homecoming Maid and was an active member of numerous philanthropic and academic organizations.
In her spare time, Megan enjoys volunteering, traveling, staying active (by hiking, Orangetheory Fitness classes or training for a marathon), and spending time with her husband and two young children - preferably on a beach somewhere.
Richard Armendariz - Licensed Home Inspector - Se Habla Español
Having served the City of Phoenix for over 30 years as a fire captain and working as a general contractor for over 20 years makes Richard a valuable addition to the Dwell Inspect Arizona Team. His impressive construction knowledge is complimented by his desire for hard work and quality craftsmanship. Becoming an inspector is a natural progression for Richard in his service-driven career.
When Richard is not inspecting houses or climbing to the depths of an attic, you can find him hiking the trails of Central Phoenix, working on his house, or spending time with his family.
Joel Anderson, President of Dwell Inspect Georgia and Contributor to Dwell Inspect Arizona
A native of Jackson, Mississippi, Joel from a young age began working on construction sites for his grandfather’s construction business, James Anderson Homes. Like both his grandfather and his father, Joel displayed an aptitude for building things, and he went on to study mechanical engineering at Mississippi State University and graduated in industrial design from Savannah College of Art and Design. Joel spent his early professional years working as a mechanical designer for both a furniture design company and a museum trade show design company. Joel has always had an entrepreneurial spirit and made the choice to open a home inspection business after learning about the industry from his mentor and owner of Dwell Inspect LLC, Sean Garvey.

Daniel Smith, President of Diamond Head Home Inspections and Contributor to Dwell Inspect Arizona
Integrity, transparency and professionalism are the foundation of Daniel’s work and the company he leads. Daniel’s background in operations, complex project management and exemplary customer service was built over years of professional experience in both Los Angeles and Honolulu. Daniel is detail-focused and deeply passionate about helping his clients gain the insights they need to make smart real estate investments.
Originally born in Los Angeles, California, Daniel was active in athletics year-round throughout his childhood and teenage years. He learned the definition of hard work and dedication along with the ability to work with people from all walks of life from his parents—officers in the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. While attending Pitzer College, Member of the Claremont Colleges, Daniel met his wife, Christine Matsuda, a local girl from Kaimuki in Honolulu, Hawaii. Daniel competes each season as an outrigger canoe paddler between beach days and soccer games with his two young sons. He has studied and completed his certifications with InterNachi (interNACHI.org).
